Free Choice Project-Wolf and Native

For my free choice project, I chose to work in a program called ZBrush. It is similar to the program known as Mudbox, but easier to use. In ZBrush, I chose to create a native from the movie Apocalypto, and a wolf. For the native, I used demo head and for the wolf I used demo dog. For both I used the tools snakehook, standard, magnify, inflate, smooth, blob, and many more. the native came out better than the wolf, because it was easier to create. I also tried creating my own  alpha brush to make the native look more wild.

In this project, the high school advanced choir came into our class and recorded a song they sang into ableton live. The song they sang is called Diesire, and we each used it to make a song that is mainly comprised of the choir’s voices. Listen and tell me what you think!

Haircut for Heartcare

 My class and I at Carol Morgan School have gotten permision from Mr.Barrs, a teacher at Carol Morgan School, to use his photos to create crazy haircuts for Heartcare Dominicana. The two photos above were done by myself. Heartcare Dominicana is an organization that helps care for the hearts of those who can’t afford the proper care or surgery for their hearts. These photos were created by my class and I to encourage the students of Carol Morgan School to raise money for Heartcare Dominicana. If students raise a certain amount of money for Heartcare Dominicana, then they will get to chose a crazy haircut for Mr.Barrs.

Fam. Vid. Reflection

My family video showing went well. My mom was the most eager to watch it and when she saw she gave me a hug and a kiss and said that it was thoughtful of me to make a present in the form of a video dedicated to the family for Christmas. My dad had to watch it later though because of his work and because of all of the trips we went on during our vacation, but he too was thankful and appreciated all of the work that I did. My sister was happy with the video, but not as thankful or excited as my mom and dad were. She likes the kind of gifts that are objects that she can bring with her and use alot. She is not a big fan of  videos or pictures. I did think that I could improve the video though because I didn’t use many effects or transitions. Overall, my family video showing was a success.

Sampling Project 1

In this project, I had to sample different parts of a song and mix them together. I took samples from the song called “Move Along”, by the All-American Rejects, and mixed those samples with 1 clip from ableton live. I used about 3 or 4 different effects and I thought it was pretty good considering that this was my first time sampling.

Live Idependent Project-Finished

This is my independent song which consisted of about 7 clips and about 3 or 4 effects. I split the first clip into 6 seperate pieces and used “Track Panning” on 2 other clips.

This is my first song that I made in Ableton Live using only 1 clip, 1 drum track, and some effects. This screenshot is in arrangement view and shows the clip and drum track I used and how long my song was.

Assignment 3 Landscape Finished

Two of the most challenging parts of this project was the group of trees on the edge of the lake and the reflection of the landscape in the water.

I chose this picture because I enjoy spending time outdoors and in the month of March. This picture was taken in March which is one of my favorite months.
